May 20, 2010 Salisbury Republican Town Committee PO Box 221, Salisbury, CT 06068 May 20, 2010 State Representative Roberta Willis PO Box 1733 30 Upland Meadow Road Lakeville, CT 06039-1733 Dear Roberta, The Salisbury Republican Town Committee (SRTC) cordially invites you to attend one of their regular monthly meetings, which would include as part of the meeting agenda an hour and a half dedicated to listening and speaking with you-our Representative for the 64th House District. We meet every 4th Tuesday of the month, usually at the Salisbury Town Hall starting at 6:30 PM - all voters of all political affiliations are welcome, as are visitors. However, to accommodate an SRTC meeting with "Guest Speaker Representative Roberta Willis of the 64th House District" we would hold our regular meeting at a significantly larger venue. This would allow the SRTC, the Salisbury Democrat Town Committee and you to invite voters and media within the 64th House District to join us. We would conclude our regular meeting agenda sharply at 7:00 PM to commence with you having the floor for up to 30 minutes to speak to the audience about your decade of service and accomplishments in the Connecticut General Assembly, and anything else you would like to share. After that introduction period, the floor would be open for a 45-60 minute Q&A period. We would agree to a methodology for choosing questions to insure an equal and fair number of Democrats, Republicans and Independents were heard. We will be hosting this same event for GOP candidate Kathy Lauretano at our regular meeting on July 27th and would therefore welcome the opportunity to schedule you on our meeting calendar and agenda for either August 24th or September 28th. Given the state of the Connecticut economy and Connecticut's budget deficit and growing debt situation, and particularly since the Independent voters in the 64th represent about 40% of your constituency, the SRTC believes voters of all political affiliations would be well served with the opportunity to hear you defend your record over the past decade and hear what solutions you would propose for Connecticut's future. The SRTC also believes it would be a good idea to schedule a 64th House District Candidate Debate in October. If you agree, the SRTC would be agreeable to coordinating and co-hosting the debate with the SDTC. Please let me hear from you at your earliest convenience as to what date would be an agreeable date for you to join us and we will proceed with the arrangements. Sincerely, Chris P. Janelli Chairman
