What happens in Bridgeport in this November Mayoral election could be the match to set this state on fire for change October 16, 2011 By Chris Janelli Chairman Salisbury Republican Town Committee The Bridgeport Republican Mayoral candidate's-Rick Torres-efforts in taking his conservative Republican campaign straight into the face of Bridgeport's powerful and corrupt Democrat machine are nothing less than heroic. His campaign to stop the corruption would at last pave the way for honest government for its people, open the door for job creating economic development and stop the Democrat's destructive social welfare policies. The Torres campaign is a huge Republican statement that will reverberate across Connecticut. It did in Salisbury when Rick spoke to our RTC and leading Republican supporters, and it will in every Connecticut town and city. Rick's race is more than simply a race for the Republican Party in Connecticut because Bridgeport is the epicenter of Democratic power and corruption - the corruption of government power that empowered and implemented the stealing of Tom Foley's campaign to be Connecticut's honestly elected Governor. Rick's race is for every Republican, Democrat and Unaffiliated voter who wants to make Bridgeport the city that it could be, but more importantly for Connecticut, one of the best states in the Union. It is also a race for the quality of life for all Connecticut residents. What happens in Bridgeport in this November Mayoral election could be the match to set this state on fire for change; especially economic opportunity change for Bridgeport's hard hit minorities. This race is about Connecticut's capacity - and will - to implement by vote the change vital to stopping economic decline, increasing taxes, debt and unfunded liabilities. It's about putting the state back on the road to attracting businesses, creating jobs, stopping the exodus of our young people and making Connecticut once again one of the great states in which to live, work and raise a family. When Rick ran for Mayor in 2003 he received over 43% of the vote; astounding in a town that is dominated by Democrats. Rick can WIN this election, but he can't do it without help and support from all across Connecticut. Help elect Rick Torres. The corrupt Democrat machine Rick faces has unlimited funds, much of which has - literally - been stolen from Bridgeport's citizens. No matter how small a donation is, every single red cent is critical to beating Bridgeport's blue machine. To contribute to Rick, go to: https://torresforbridgeport.netboots.net/contribute
